As part of the DG–Tools project, ACRES developed the Living EIDM ToolMap, a dynamic, open-access repository designed to be the ‘GPS’ for Evidence-Informed Decision-Making. In a landscape where new digital and AI tools emerge almost daily, the ToolMap helps researchers, developers, and policymakers cut through the noise to find the exact digital solution they need for any stage of the evidence journey.
The ToolMap is a curated ecosystem organized around the actual workflow of evidence synthesis. Instead of searching aimlessly, users can filter tools based on their specific functional needs:
- Tools for scoping and needs assessment.
- Tools for data mining, cleaning, and statistical modelling.
- Platforms for systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
- Innovation tools for packaging and sharing findings with the public.
The ‘Living’ aspect of the ToolMap is its most powerful feature. The digital world moves faster than traditional research cycles, so we built the platform to be self-evolving:
- Researchers and software developers can submit new tools as they are launched, ensuring the global community benefits from the latest innovations.
- Our team conducts regular, proactive searches to verify and add emerging technologies, keeping the repository current and credible.
- By centralizing these resources, we drastically reduce the time spent on “tool-searching,” allowing teams to dedicate more energy to high-quality analysis.
