The Digital Repository for Rapid Evidence Synthesis (Dr-RES)

The Homepage

The Digital Repository for Rapid Evidence Synthesis (Dr-RES) is a centralized, AI-powered platform designed to solve one of the hurdles in African governance: the evidence access gap. In many developing regions, critical data is often locked away in inaccessible journals or scattered across unorganized databases. The Dr-RES breaks those walls down, providing an open-access one-stop shop where policymakers can find, understand, and apply evidence in real-time.

Developed with support from the B-CUE and Africa LEEPS projects, the Dr-RES leverages Large Language Models (LLMs) to make Evidence-Informed Decision Making (EIDM) faster and more intuitive. This is an intelligent assistant that helps users navigate complex thematic areas.

  • As of early 2026, the platform has indexed over 4,000 primary studies and 70 specialized Rapid Response Briefs.
  • Every piece of evidence is formatted for clarity, ensuring that a health minister and a community advocate can both draw the same actionable insights from the data.

Who the Dr-RES serves

The platform is built to be the “technical nervous system” for a wide range of stakeholders, including:

  • Government agencies: Bridging the gap between national strategy and sub-national implementation.
  • CSOs & NGOs: Providing the data needed to advocate for community-led solutions.
  • Academia: Offering a centralized hub for the latest in African-specific primary research.
  • Healthcare professionals: Giving frontline workers access to the best available evidence for clinical and systemic care.

The Dr-RES advantage

  • A user-friendly interface designed for high-pressure environments.
  • Grouping evidence into learning areas so users can see the big picture of a specific policy challenge.
  • The platform offers built-in opportunities for training and support, ensuring that users don’t just find evidence, but know how to use it.
