The cost of gender-based violence on national development
The costs of GBV on national development are substantial and cannot be overstated. Beyond its effects on individuals, repercussions extend to households, businesses and society, hindering the full realization of a nation’s potential. Coordinated efforts are imperative to address and prevent GBV, fostering an environment where all citizens can contribute optimally to national development. By recognizing and addressing the costs of GBV on national development, policymakers and stakeholders can better prioritize resources and implement targeted strategies aimed at addressing GBV in Uganda.
