ACRES

Senior Research Scientist

Pastan Lusiba

Pastan Lusiba is a scientist driven by a mission of ensuring that the brilliance of basic research isn’t lost in the halls of academia. His career took a transformative turn when he recognized a recurring tragedy in global health; the gap between what we know through evidence and what we actually do in policy.

Today, as the head of the Research, Innovation, and Evaluation Unit, Pastan leads the team in developing the next generation of tools and methodologies that turn raw data into life-saving action.

He specializes in Digital Health Innovations, creating sophisticated solutions that work in the challenging, resource-limited settings of the developing world. He is shortening the distance between discovery and implementation by integrating digital tools into the evidence synthesis process. His leadership ensures that ACRES is actively setting the pace for how technology can make systems more resilient and responsive.

What sets Pastan apart is his mastery of Implementation Science. He develops the frameworks that allow solutions to scale.

Under his guidance, the Research and Innovation Unit has become a laboratory for new digital tools that support Evidence-Informed Decision Making (EIDM).
