ACRES

Senior Research Scientist

Edward Kayongo

As the Technical Coordinator at ACRES, Edward Kayongo is the central pillar of our institutional delivery. He oversees the seamless integration of research, policy, and engagement, ensuring that the organization’s strategy translates into tangible results on the ground. Edward is the primary navigator of the ACRES project portfolio, managing the complex workflows that allow us to move from raw data to national impact.

Edward also leads the Policy Engagement and Analysis Unit, where he manages the interface between ACRES and its stakeholders. His role is to ensure that our technical capabilities are perfectly aligned with the real-world needs of the sectors we operate. He manages the balance between scientific rigour and the urgent timelines of government through spearheading the Rapid Response Service (RRS).

He ensures that every evidence synthesis is contextualized, every recommendation is actionable, and every stakeholder engagement is purposeful. Through synchronizing the efforts of technical teams and policy architects, he facilitates a governance culture where research is not an isolated event but a continuous driver of reform.

His oversight ensures that ACRES remains agile, responsive, and consistently excellent in its service to the public.
