EIDM

Efforts toward building evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) culture in Uganda

Duration: 2022- present

The project builds on the current work and seeks to strengthen critical areas, including governance, knowledge, and skills for sustained evidence-informed decision-making. An essential component of the project is focusing on an environment that values the timely use of high-quality evidence for policies and decisions in Uganda and the region. We hypothesize that the interventions that seek to understand and/or modify a policymaker’s environment are necessary for sustainable EIDM. We will also leverage our leadership position to strengthen the evidence-to-action networks and their potential to strengthen the EIDM processes. All these efforts will focus on the environment, actions, and activities of decision-makers with the aim of ensuring that skills and abilities to use evidence in decision-making are not lost once the project ends.
