Dr. Rhona Mijumbi-Deve

Dr Rhona Mijumbi holds a PhD in Health Policy – Makerere University and McMaster University, Masters in International Public Health-University of Queensland, Masters in Epidemiology and Biostatistics – Makerere University and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery- Mbarara University of Science and Technology.

Dr Mijumbi has over 20 years of incremental experience as a Public Policy Analyst, Researcher, and Evidence Synthesis Specialist with a special interest in the networks and interactions at the nexus of science /knowledge and the policy.

She has worked with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom as a Senior lecturer of Public Policy; the Regional East African Community Health Policy Initiative (REACH-PI) as a Policy Analyst and Senior Research Scientist; The Center for Rapid Evidence Synthesis (ACRES) as a founding Director to date; Consultant Health System Specialist, Belgium Technical Cooperation (BTC)-Institutional  Capacity Building (ICB) Project, Uganda; Research Associate, London School of Economics and Political Science Overseas based in London; Research Associate, McMaster Health Forum, McMaster University Ontario, Canada as a specialist on the development of two global online clearing houses for evidence for Practitioners  and Policy Makers on HIV/AIDS and Research Associate, Queensland Breast Cancer  Research, School of Population Health, University of Queensland, Australia.

Dr Mijumbi was also selected for leadership as a member, Advisory Group on Gender and COVID Research Agenda setting, United Nations University; Advisory member, COVID 19 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) taskforce; Consultant and Technical Advisor, World Health Organization TDR; Senior Fellow, International Initiative for Impact Evaluation, Washington DC, USA; Consultant research scientist and evidence synthesis specialist, Oxford Policy Management- London, UK; Consultant , Centre for learning on Evaluation and results, South Africa and the Office of the Prime Minister, Uganda; Technical Advisor and mentor, Ministries of Health Malaysia, Georgia, India and Zimbabwe; Technical Advisor and Mentor, Ministry Of Health Cambodia and USAID/CDC, Technical Advisor and Mentor – Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research/Jimma University Alliance Review Center Ethiopia and Consultant research specialist, Intra Health International /USAID’s Capacity Plus/ World Bank –USA/Uganda.
